Shock has a specific meaning in the medical field, and doesn’t refer to the condition someone experiences when they are grieving or anxious. The medical condition of shock is what happens when certain parts of the body aren’t getting enough blood; circulation is affected or restricted. Without the proper blood supply, the body is placed under extreme physiological stress, which can cause internal organs to fail and/or make the condition worsen very quickly.
